Choosing construction software
BRCKS app: Procore alternatives for UK builders
Start with the part of Procore you need to replace. A drawing viewer, trade-job tool and enterprise construction platform are not interchangeable.
This guide is published by BRCKS. It explains our fit and our limits, and points to other options without claiming there is one best product for every builder.
When keeping Procore makes sense
Procore documents project management, drawings, daily reports, RFIs, submittals and financial workflows. If you depend on several of those together, do not replace it with a narrower app without checking what happens to approvals, integrations and historical records.
Start with your actual project process. List what people use, what they do not use and what information must remain accessible. A change should solve a specific problem, not just remove a familiar supplier.
BRCKS for chat-led site coordination
BRCKS connects job chat, snags, materials requests and site diaries. Site teams use BRCKS Chat on iPhone and Android, the office uses BRCKS Web, and subcontractors and clients can stay on WhatsApp.
It is not an estimating, takeoff, payroll or enterprise accounting replacement. Read the BRCKS vs Procore comparison and small-builder software buyer’s guide before deciding.
Fieldwire for drawing-led field work
Fieldwire documents drawing management, task coordination and field workflows. If your main problem is coordinating work around plans, test that workflow directly rather than judging it by a chat demonstration.
Use the BRCKS vs Fieldwire comparison to separate drawing-led work from chat-led project records. Check the required forms, reports and export capabilities in the current plan.
Tradify and Fergus for trade-job administration
Tradify describes an enquiry-to-quote-to-job-to-invoice workflow, with scheduling, time tracking and accounting connections. Fergus documents job cards, quotes, scheduling, costs and invoicing, with supplier and accounting connections.
Those are useful options when administration is the gap, rather than a broad commercial construction platform. See BRCKS vs Tradify and BRCKS vs Fergus for the practical differences.
Buildertrend for residential business workflows
Buildertrend is another product to assess for residential construction management, including estimating, financial and customer-facing workflows. Do not assume it fits or fails solely because of where a supplier is based.
Read BRCKS vs Buildertrend, then verify the functions, integrations and terms your business needs directly with the supplier.
Test the exit as well as the new tool
- Export a representative job and check drawings, dates, photos and approvals.
- Trial the same update, task, snag and client permission in your shortlist.
- Check accounting and other integrations; do not assume a manual export is a live sync.
- Keep the old record available until the new process works and the evidence is safe.
For daily work rather than software selection, see BRCKS for builders. For a broader shortlist, read the construction apps guide.
Procore alternative questions
Is BRCKS a complete Procore replacement?
No. BRCKS focuses on site communication and project records. Check financial, submittal, integration and other enterprise workflows separately.
Which alternative is best for drawings?
Fieldwire is worth evaluating for drawing-led field coordination. Trial the plans, tasks and reporting you actually need.
What if I mostly need quotes and invoices?
Tradify and Fergus document trade-job administration workflows. Evaluate those tools against your quoting, job-cost and accounting needs.
Can I keep Procore alongside BRCKS?
You can assess a separate site-communication workflow while retaining existing records. Do not assume a direct integration; check the information that must move between systems.
